Udhyog Aadhar Registration


With an aim to encourage Online Filing of Entrepreneurs Memorandum (or simply said Online registration) as a Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), the Ministry of MSME, Government of India, is developed 'Online Udyog Aadhaar Form', which has simplified the registration process of small enterprises.

Earlier Entrepreneur had to file Entrepreneur Memorandum-I (EM-I) and Entrepreneur Memorandum-II (EM-II) to get MSME Registration or SSI registration. Now EM-I has been abolished. Udyog Aadhaar is for running units. No need to Apply for Upcoming Units.

    The Udhyog Aadhar registration is not statutory. However, the MSME registration process in India has been conceptualized to provide maximum benefits to all types of enterprises. After registration, any enterprise becomes qualified to reap the benefits offered under the MSMED Act

  • Whether the Registration is compulsory?

    A Medium enterprise engaged in the manufacture or production of goods has to compulsorily register under the MSMED Act. For other Enterprises the registration is discretionary or optional. Taking into consideration the benefits available under the Act, it is recommended that every enterprise shall opt for the registration.



  • Which are the classes of enterprises that may qualify for Registration ?

    All classes of enterprises, whether Proprietorship, Hindu undivided family, Association of persons, Co-operative society, Partnership firm, Company or Undertaking, by whatever name called can apply for the registration and get qualified for the benefits provided under the Act.




  • What are Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises?

    The following slabs have been prescribed under the MSMED Act to determine the status of the Enterprise:
    Enterprises Investment in Plant & Machinery (Manufacturing) Investment in Equipment (service)
    Micro Up to Rs. 25 lakhs Up to Rs. 10 lakhs
    Small Above Rs. 25 lakhs up to Rs. 5 crore Above Rs. 10 lakhs up to Rs. 2 crore
    Medium Above Rs. 5 crore up to Rs. 10 crore Above Rs. 2 crore up to Rs. 5 crore
